PLC Architects was founded in 1990 after years of collaboration between its directors in a large commercial practice. With offices in Portsmouth, London, and Chichester, the firm operates nationwide, focusing on designs that balance aesthetic appeal with practical considerations.

The practice is known for its flexible approach to both commercial and residential development, combining strong professional knowledge and technical expertise to deliver creative yet cost-effective solutions. Over the years, PLC Architects has built a reputation for adapting quickly to clients' evolving needs while maintaining high standards of service.

Jason Bonner, the current owner, joined the firm in 1999. After managing major projects such as Phase 1 of the Gunwharf Quays residential development, he became an associate director. In 2017, he took ownership of the practice and continues to lead its development.
